The Catholic Business Network of Prince George's
County (CBN-PG) is an organization of men and women dedicated to supporting
Catholic education in Prince George's County and applying the principles
of our faith in the marketplace.
We promote valuable networking opportunities among CBN-PG members, as well
as additional support within the County for the education of our young
men and women.
We at CBN-PG remain committed to our work in the area of outreach. We want to make sure that businesses in the county know who we are, extend a warm hand of hospitality and invitation to them to join us, and make sure that as a networking organization we can continue to support the very businesses who are supporting Catholic education.
At the same time, we want to continue to nurture our relationships with our county schools and parishes. Together we do make a difference.

The CBN-PG 10th Aniversary Gala was held Friday, May 2, at the Four Points Sheraton in New Carrollton, MD. About 180 guests attended and enjoyed good food and drink, entertainment and a great silent auction.
After honoring volunteers and Business Partners from parishes and schools, President Jim Palmer awarded the 2008 scholarships. Full information on the recipients as well as other honorees, can be accessed here. Please click on the photo album link on the right to view a slide show of images from the night's festivities.
April, 2008 Networking Breakfast Bingo brings members together At the April CBN-PG Breakfast, members had the chance to learn new and interesting things about each other, thanks to a networking bingo game, introduced by Paul Dougherty.
Armed with sheets containing trivia such as "I was a contestant on Wheel of Fortune," or "My business is named after my children," members moved around the room to find those who matched the descriptions.
Completed sheets were shuffled, and a winner, Patty Koppers, was picked to receive a complimentary sponsorship at a future meeting.
St. Matthias School in Lanham received April's grant, which will be used to supplement their growing audiobook library. Pictured are Ann O'Hare and Julie Kelly of St. Matthias with CBN-PG President Jim Palmer.
Dougherty then asked for last-minute auction donations and encouraged everyone to attend the May 2 10th Anniversary Gala and Dinner.
Tony Laubach announced the slate of officers nominated for the coming year, which is the same as this year's slate. Voting will take place during the June breakfast
New Grants Application and Criteria Board approves new form for grants The CBN-PG Board has approved a new application for schools seeking CBN-PG grants. It can be downloaded here. Click here for a summary of grants awarded over the past ten years. The criteria for grants are as follows:
Applicants are required to be members of our organization.**
Grant requests will be accepted for academic supplies, religious education items, student/teacher resources, tuition assistance (not for an individual, but rather for the discretionary use of the Principal/Pastor), and/or other student-centered needs. The CBN-PG Grant Review Panel has the sole discretion to decide the appropriateness of the request.
Grant requests will not be accepted for Capital Campaigns or operating expenses.
**Membership in CBN-PG is FREE to all Catholic Schools in the County. The only requirement for membership is the submission of a membership form. Religious education programs may also submit a membership form at no cost.
Grant requests will be acknowledged in writing upon receipt. Grants are reviewed on a quarterly basis and subsequently awarded. A School or organization receiving a grant at a monthly CBN-PG Networking breakfast will be notified in advance.
If a school should experience an emergency or immediate need, the CBN-PG Board may review this request prior to the next scheduled meeting of the Grant Review Committee.
