The Catholic Business Network of Prince George's
County (CBN-PG) is an organization of men and women dedicated to supporting
Catholic education in Prince George's County and applying the principles
of our faith in the marketplace.
We promote valuable networking opportunities among CBN-PG members, as well
as additional support within the County for the education of our young
men and women.
We at CBN-PG remain committed to our work in the area of outreach. We want to make sure that businesses in the county know who we are, extend a warm hand of hospitality and invitation to them to join us, and make sure that as a networking organization we can continue to support the very businesses who are supporting Catholic education.
At the same time, we want to continue to nurture our relationships with our county schools and parishes. Together we do make a difference.

The CBN-PG 10th Aniversary Gala was held Friday, May 2, at the Four Points Sheraton in New Carrollton, MD. About 180 guests attended and enjoyed good food and drink, entertainment and a great silent auction.
After honoring volunteers and Business Partners from parishes and schools, President Jim Palmer awarded the 2008 scholarships. Full information on the recipients as well as other honorees, can be accessed here. Please click on the photo album link on the right to view a slide show of images from the night's festivities.
2007 Crab Feast Many generations enjoy good food, fun Sunday, October 29 was a classic fall day, with leaves changing color and a chill in the air. What better way to celebrate than at CBN-PG's Second Annual Crab Feast? About 150 people of all ages attended the event at the Sacred Heart Council of the Knights of Columbus in Bowie.
A 50-inch TV was tuned into football -- unfortunately the Redskins didn't cooperate with a win -- and then was raffled off. The winning ticket was drawn by Fr. George Wilkinson, pastor of Holy Redeemer in College Park (who is pictured above with a helper in pink, and event organizer Steve Kemp in the background.)
Many families turned out in large numbers, including several generations of the Facchina family (B.G. Facchina and his family are pictured at right.)
The kids had a great time cartwheeling and sliding around the dance floor as their parents and grandparents made short work of bushel after bushel of crabs, prepared by Buddy's of Annapolis.
Click on any of the photos above to be taken to a full photo album for the event, and plan for a third installment of the Crab Feast next fall.
2007 Golf Classic
DeMatha reclaims bragging rights Over 60 golfers enjoyed beautiful weather, manicured fairways and delicious food at the Annual CBN-PG Golf Classic on Monday, October 22. DeMatha High School won the tournament which allows them bragging rights, to house the CBN-PG golf trophy for this year and also provides a $1,000 grant to the school.
First time players from Elizabeth Seton High School who participated thanks to the largess of John Kincaid, Jr. of Stoy Malone & Co., vowed to give DeMatha a run for their money next year. "This year, we played for fun. Next year, we're gonna get serious," they promised. Click on any photo below to view an album of this year's tournament.

2006
Crab Feast Good food, friends, surprise guests
help make first Crab Feast a success The
first-ever CBN-PG Crab Feast took place Sunday, October 22 at the
Knights of Columbus Hall in Bowie. The weather was crisp and the
crabs were fresh and delicious, according to President Steve Kemp
(pictured on right.)
More than 80 people enjoyed a full seafood spread and the Redskins
game. The afternoon event provided a chance to network for those
who can't make the breakfast meetings, and with at least one surprise
guest.
About
an hour into the event, Lt. Gov. Michael Steele arrived with an
entourage. He talked with guests about the importance of government
support for small businesses. He is pictured on the left with CBN-PG
member John Solari of Bowie.
Kemp, who went the extra mile to ensure the event's success, hopes
the Crab Feast will become an annual happening.
2006 Golf Classic
St. Columba regains golf trophy Since
the CBN-PG Golf Classic began, the St. Columba crew has won three
out of four matches. They reclaimed the trophy Thursday, October 26,
at Renditions Golf Club in Davidsonville. Chuck Restivo, Sean Warfield,
Joe Leightner, and Eric Miller of St. Columba are pictured on the
right basking in the glow of their victory and of a picture-perfect
day of golf.
It
was 40 degrees at the shotgun start. After coffee and collecting this
year's gifts, including mock turtlenecks, the nearly 80 golfers were
warmed up and took to the course. Premiums included a "beat the
pro" hole and a fully-stocked beverage cart, sponsored by John
Kincaid, Sr. Pictured is the team from St. Ambrose, headed by John
McGuirk on the left, who helped raise a bumper crop of hole sponsors.
Afterward
in the clubhouse, there was a barbecue lunch and awards ceremony.
Paul Dougherty, chairman of the Golf Classic and pictured on the right,
recognized the first and last place finishers along with those with
the longest drives and the lowest scores.
Second place went to Steve Morusiewicz, Tom Kerley, Jamie Dilla, and
Paul Dougherty of Assumption parish. In third place were: Mike Jones,
Neal Murphy, Bob Weaver, and Spencer Allen who played for DeMatha.
